Poly What?
I understand polynomials and the video didn't really make anything about polynomials clearer to me. Somthing new that I learned from the website link was that polynomials cannot have the variable as a denominator in a fraction problem. Polynomials also cannot have a negative exponent. That is something new that I learned about polynomials.

Saving Money living in Cleveland
This will take you to a link that gives tips to saving money living in Cleveland. Take a couple minutes to read the titles of the articles and find TWO that interest you. After you read them, answer these questions on your blog in COMPLETE sentences for each article: 1) What article did you chose and why? 2) How does it relate to you? (if not you, your parents, your grandparents, your aunts, uncles, older siblings, etc.) 3) What did learn from reading this article? Be specific!
1.) The 1st article I chose to read about was 30 days 30 ways to save: shutting off water leaks. I chose to read this article because there are a couple places in our house that have water leaks.
2.) This relates to me and my family because we have some leaky faucets. Also, when we use the hose we leave it on until we are done using it. The same thing happens with the shower. The faucet will be turned off but the shower head will still drip.
3.) This article gave me a few tips that I could tell my family about. To stop the hose from constantly running when we use it we could get a nozzle for it. That way, when we're not spraying the hose all the water will be kept bottled up inside. One way to keep the shower head from leaking is to get a new one. It will definitely save you money in the long run.
1.) The 2nd article I chose to read about was 30 days 30 ways to save: back to school clothes shoppong. I chose to read this article because I love to shop for clothes and the more I save the more I can get.
2.) This relates to me and my family because with the way gas prices are we are always looking for ways to save money. If we shop at certain stores we can save money on brand name clothes that I love.
3.) From this article I learned that you can save money easily just by shopping at a different store. Plato's closet is a good place to go when looking to save money. They have awesome brand name clothes like Abercombie, Hollister, and American Eagle for prices half of what you can get at the mall.

Cost of Gas for an "average" American
1) Check out this article:http://www.bts.gov/publications/omnistats/volume_03_issue_04/html/entire.html2) Let's say you are an "average" American based on that article. How many total miles are spent driving to work in one week (remember you drive TO and FROM work each day)?3) Now, if you are like a typical American, you are doing more driving than just to work and back. In an average week, I drive around 350 miles per week! Use this equation, 350/mpg x P = T (mpg = whatever your car's mpg is, P = local gas price, T = total cost) to find out how much you will spend on gas in one week. Bonus - could you write an equation to find out how much you spend on gas in one month?
In one week the average american travels 15 miles one way to work and it takes on average 26 minutes. If I worked every day of the week I would travel 210 miles. In order to solve this problem I used an equation. If m=miles and d=days at work for that week than the equation is 15 x 2 x d= total miles traveled in one week. I plugged in the numbers and came up with 15 x 2 x 7=210. Next, to figure out how much money I would spend on gas I would again use an equation. Normally, I would drive abuot 350 miles a week total for other stuff not just work so I will use the equation 350/mpg x P = T when P=local gas price and T=total cost of gas for one week.
I will get the answer of 80.15. It will cost me 80 dollars and 15 cents for gas each week

My Dream Car
So, how many of you dream of the first car you will own? Well, in this assignment, let's pretend that you just graduated from college and your super-generous parents are going to buy you WHATEVER car you want! However, you have to pay for gas with hard earned money you will be making in your first job :) In this 15 point assignment due THIS Wednesday October 8, your job will be to figure out the following:1) What car will you buy and why?2) Google your car, go the car's website, then find out:a) How many gallons does your gas tank hold? b) How many miles do you get per gallon (mpg)? 3)Now you can figure out how much will it cost you to fill your tank. Use the link below to find local gas prices.
There are many times I think about the first car I am going to get when I am able to drive. When I think about this I wonder how safe the car is. I wonder if the car I want to get is a gas guzzler or if it is 30-some miles to the gallon. I don't really want a small car like a beetle because they aren't as safe as something like a truck. That is why I'm looking into getting a Ford F150. When I imagine myself driving an F150 I imagine me feeling tall, powerful, and in control. The ford F150 is 15 miles to the gallon, not exactly what I would hope for but lets face it nothing is perfect and I have pretty high expectations. If the F150 is 15 miles to the gallon, and the tank holds 30 gallons and if gas is about 3 dollars and 60 cents a gallon the it would cost 108 dollars to fill up my gas tank. Some of the physical characteristics my car would have is that it would be shiny dark blue and the interior color would be grey. Some of the feautures that i would add to my truck is a moonroof, a GPS, and a DVD Player. I also want an airbag because they are safe and they are really funny looking when they go off. Just because the airbags would be awesome I definitely do NOT plan on wrecking the car just to make the cool airbags go off. That is exactly what my dream car would be like.
